About the work
A pale band of light appears to emerge from a deep field of violet and blue. Its softened edges suggest a form coming into view, suspended between radiance and shadow. Glow brings Anish Kapoor’s interest in colour, depth and uncertain space into an intimate printed image. Released by Hospital Rooms in 2026 after the 2023 work, the edition supports the charity’s programme of art and creative activity in mental health settings.
About the artist
Anish Kapoor (born Mumbai, 1954) works across sculpture, painting and installation. He studied at Hornsey College of Art and Chelsea School of Art in London, developing a practice that tests the relationship between material form and the experience of space. Pigment, reflective surfaces and apparent voids can make solid objects seem unstable, expansive or difficult to locate.
His work moves between intimate encounters and monumental public projects, including Cloud Gate in Chicago. He represented Britain at the Venice Biennale in 1990 and won the Turner Prize in 1991. Alongside sculpture, painting provides a space for exploring colour, bodily associations and the tension between surface and depth. Kapoor lives and works in London and Venice.
