About the work
Keith Newlove’s practice moves between drawing, textiles and sculpture, attending to the ways a line can become a material presence. This untitled work invites a related consideration of surface and structure. Rather than treating an image as separate from its support, Newlove’s wider approach encourages attention to how a work is made and how its materials affect the act of looking.
About the artist
Keith Newlove is a Derby-based artist whose practice moves between drawing, textiles and sculpture. He graduated from the University of Derby in 2012, with a background in textiles and embroidery. Subsequent work has explored three-dimensional drawing and the translation of drawn forms into sculptural materials, including bronze.
Newlove's abstract work attends to line, structure and the possibilities of making across different processes. He is also a co-founder of Salon Contemporary Arts.
