Just a Thought 011
Joseph Clark Collection · JCC-0007
About the work
A palm tree appears in silhouette against the sky, its fronds spreading across the square of an instant photograph. The low viewpoint transforms an everyday encounter into a graphic arrangement of dark shape and open space. Just a Thought 011 belongs to Wyatt Gallery’s series of intimate observations made during the pandemic and early parenthood, finding moments of attention within the rhythms of daily life.
About the artist
Wyatt Gallery is a photographer whose projects move between documentary observation, architectural space and quiet studies of everyday surroundings. His published bodies of work include Tent Life: Haiti, Jewish Treasures of the Caribbean and Subtext, reflecting an interest in the traces of communities and histories within places.
In Just a Thought, presented by Foley Gallery in 2021, he turned to a sequence of 52 unique Polaroids made in the circumstances of the pandemic and early parenthood. The series treats ordinary visual encounters as occasions for attention and reflection. This more intimate practice sits alongside his larger documentary projects, linking close observation with an awareness of the world beyond the frame.
